For all vehicles that are under severe conditions, the maintenance schedule should be performed more frequently at lower intervals, usually half of the normal annual requirement. The shortened period is to protect the vehicle from damage to various areas including lubricant replacement in the transmission and axles where there is the possibility of water, mud, sand etc causing damage due to contamination.
